"Pete" has outstanding breeding, top and bottom, which anyone who is familiar with cutting, reining and working cow horse bloodlines will certainly appreciate. Pete was purchased after receiving some professional training first in cutting, by Jim Colleary (Tamalight's owner), and then six months in reining, as a young horse. He has been enjoyed on the trails, been used as a turn-back horse at cuttings, for team penning and sorting plus he is flag-broke. Pete's owner also took him to a mounted shooting practice and he did quite well, but would need more practice to become solid in that venue. Pete is pretty laid-back and can even be a bit lazy if you want a relaxed trail ride; yet a knowledgeable rider can quickly get Pete to respond to cues and he can do a reining pattern nicely, and can flat-out turn around on his belly.  We believe he could go just about any direction his new owner desires. Pete loves children, is good to clip, shoe, load and haul, ties well and doesn't have any vices other than playing 'catch-me-if-you-can' when out in a big field. In a corral or stall, he comes right up to you when you call his name and he likes to give kisses. Pete is sound and has not been 'rode hard and put away wet' plus has good conformation (the photos do NOT do him justice), a good attitude and great training. He should make a wonderful working partner for a knowledgeable horseman or woman who enjoys a kind personable horse, as well as a GOOD one. Pete is being sold because his owner has recently undergone rotator-cuff surgery on his shoulder and just doesn't plan to do much riding any more. Pete is starting into his prime years, so deserves a home where he will be put to work and enjoyed. Pete is up-to-date on all his health care and lives in the Montesano area of Washington state, west of Olympia.
