"Frankie" comes from pure Paint royalty on his papers, but he was born as a solid chestnut (used to be called "breeding stock") un-colored Paint. In Frankie's case, maybe it ended up good news since he wasn't trained at too young an age or pushed too hard to get him into the show ring. He is happy, kind, sweet, willing and SOUND as a big, pretty, well-built 9-year-old gelding. Frankie has great ground manners - is friendly, yet always polite and respectful. He is easy to catch, lead, tie, bathe, shoe, load and haul. Frankie will stand still for you to mount or dismount from either side using a mounting block; he can give his face softly and collect in all three gaits for a rider who knows how to cue him; he knows his haunch and forehand turns; and backs quietly. In spite of Frankie's "good handle", he has spent most of his time for the last few years being ridden extensively in the southern Cascade Mountain Range and throughout the Crater Lake Wilderness. He has smooth gaits, is very surefooted and willingly goes wherever you point him, including unhesitatingly through water. Frankie is also very accustomed to riding with DOGS all around him - crunching through the brush and running under his legs, and he is not spooky.  Frankie lives in Powell Butte in central Oregon, is up-to-date on his worming, shots and dentistry and will only be sold to a very good home.
