"Shooter" was bred and raised by an experienced horsewoman, so has received lots of attention and handling since birth. His sire was a tall, beautiful, colorful, deep-golden palomino tobiano Paint and his dam was lovely AQHA mare who won halter and western pleasure points in the show ring before becoming a broodmare. Because Shooter was so pretty, straight, correct and had such a good disposition, he was kept a stallion and was bred to several mares, producing some colorful, good-minded foals. His owner decided to get out of the Paint horse breeding business a couple of years ago, so Shooter was gelded and has been enjoyed as a pleasure, 4H, trail, show and High School Equestrian Team horse. Shooter has had years of training, including many months with a professional reining trainer, so a knowledgeable horse-person who knows how to cue him will find that he can do just about anything. He is light in the bridle, can extend and collect in each gait and even do a reining pattern. He is sensible and surefooted on trails, goes over bridges and through water quietly and is accustomed to traffic as well as the hectic atmosphere of a horse show. Shooter is good to handle on the ground, enjoys a bath, is mannerly with his feet and loads and hauls great. This tall, sound, eye-catching gelding can either be enjoyed in the arena, on the ranch or up in the mountains. He is current on all health care and lives in the La Pine area of central Oregon.
